Job summary

Punahou School is seeking an Extended Programs Assistant to provide advanced administrative, operational, and leadership support across all Extended Programs including ASC, AS, AE, and Summer Camps. You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, and coordinate program logistics with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role requires initiative, problem-solving, and independent decision-making aligned with program objectives and the school’s mission, with a 12-month work year and hours 10:00

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative or program coordination experience, preferably in a school, youth program, or camp environment.
• One (1) year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience developing and implementing training or staff development preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making in program logistics, supervision, and family communication.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience interacting with children, families, and staff in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with technology platforms (Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, etc.).
• Knowledge of child supervision standards and safety practices in youth programming.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Other youth safety or supervisory certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, operational, and leadership support across ASC, AS, AE, and Summer Camps.
• Supervise staff and volunteers in absence of manager.
• Coordinate scheduling, programming, and logistics.
• Engage with families and internal departments to ensure program continuity.
• Support program evaluation and compliance with safety protocols.
