Job summary

Punahou School is seeking an Extended Programs Assistant to support all Extended Programs, including ASC, AS, AE, and Summer Camps. This role requires initiative, independent judgment, and strong organizational skills to ensure program continuity and quality.

You will assist with staff supervision, scheduling, and program logistics, acting as a liaison to families and internal departments while contributing to program planning and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative or program coordination experience.
• One (1) year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience developing and implementing staff training preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in logistics, supervision, and family communication.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to multitask.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, families, and staff.
• Proficiency with technology platforms (MS Office, Google Workspace, scheduling systems).
• Knowledge of child supervision standards and safety practices.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced administrative, operational, and leadership support across Extended Programs.
• Supervise staff in the absence of the Manager and coordinate scheduling.
• Coordinate staff development and training initiatives.
• Oversee program logistics, family communication, and program quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.
• Contribute to program evaluation and planning to align with school missions.
