Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a Grounds Equipment Operator to maintain golf course grounds by operating farm-type tractors and attached equipment.

The role involves operating mowing gear, dump trucks, inspecting vehicles, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety and federal requirements. The position is full-time and based on government facilities in the region.

Qualifications

• One and a half years’ experience in golf course maintenance.
• One year of experience operating tractors and other heavy equipment.
• Ability to maneuver machinery in tight spaces.
• Ability to hook up and align attachments.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates tractors and mowing equipment on golf course grounds.
• Operates a dump truck and other heavy equipment for daily maintenance.
• Digs trenches, cleans ditches and weeds around facilities as required.
• Inspects vehicles and equipment for safety, oil levels, tires and usability.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
