Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College is seeking a Technical Specialist - Experiential Learning and Advisory Board Liaison to oversee applied learning opportunities and advisory committees. You’ll collaborate with departments on placement, evaluation, and reporting of internships and related experiences, ensuring alignment with board recommendations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and experience in CTE/workforce development, with strong communication and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arts, sciences, education, workforce development or related field required.
• Demonstrated experience in career and technical education (CTE), workforce development, experiential learning, or related career pathways.
• Preferred: higher education experience, especially in a community college setting.
• Experience developing, coordinating, and assessing applied learning experiences (internships, service learning, clinicals, or field placements).
• Ability to build and sustain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases or student information systems.
• Experience in career services, internship coordination, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Intake and development of college-wide applied learning processes.
• Compile and maintain database of experiential curricular resources and share with faculty.
• Coordinate advisory committee meetings and ensure accurate minutes.
• Identify, develop, and facilitate student placement in applied learning experiences.
• Enter information into the applied learning database and ensure accuracy.
• Represent FLCC at SUNY level conferences related to Applied Learning & Internships.
• Develop and deliver presentations around applied learning opportunities and career exploration.
• Foster ongoing industry partnerships and monitor alignment with curriculum.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
