Job summary

Doral Centre Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for clients and patients. This part-time role focuses on delivering exceptional client service while supporting doctors, technicians, and hospital operations.

You will manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and documentation, with a focus on accurate EMR records and a welcoming front desk environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Assisting with prescription requests and medication pick‑up coordination under veterinarian direction
• Communicating effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Providing calm, empathetic support during urgent or emotionally sensitive situations
• Helping maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and lobby environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience
• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal healthcare setting
• Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology
• Experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar platforms
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds independently and heavier pets with assistance
• Safely handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals of varying sizes and temperaments
• Work in a veterinary healthcare environment with routine exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, and occasional loud noises
• Perform repetitive computer and telephone tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail

Schedule

• This is a part‑time position offering approximately two shifts per week.
• Rotating 10‑or 12‑hour shifts
• Schedule and Availability: 7:00 AM - 1:00 AM, Monday through Sunday
• Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays is required (employees are not scheduled every holiday but are expected to participate in holiday coverage)

Compensation

• $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
