Job summary

Doral Centre Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Receptionist for a part-time role in Doral, Florida. You will be the first point of contact for clients and patients, welcoming them and supporting veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, checking in/out, and managing records, payments, and client communication. A friendly, organized, and resilient team member is ideal.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience.
• Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Providing calm, empathetic support during urgent or emotionally sensitive situations
• Helping maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and lobby environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience
• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal healthcare setting
• Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology
• Experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar platforms
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds independently and heavier pets with assistance
• Safely handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals of varying sizes and temperaments
• Work in a veterinary healthcare environment with routine exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, and occasional loud noises
• Perform repetitive computer and telephone tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail

Schedule

• This is a part-time position offering approximately two shifts per week.
  • Rotating 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule and Availability: 7:00 AM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Sunday
  • Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays is required (employees are not scheduled every holiday but are expected to participate in holiday coverage)

Compensation

• $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
