Job summary

Hilbish Ford is looking for an experienced Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair pre-owned vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for the road.

We seek a technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, a positive attitude, and a commitment to doing the job right. The role involves adapting to a diverse inventory and mentoring junior technicians while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred.
• Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models.
• Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians.
• Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to assess overall condition.
• Identify and document any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other vehicle systems.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards.
• Other duties assigned.
