Job summary

Ron Carter Ford is seeking an experienced Used Car Technician to join our service team. You will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair pre-owned vehicles to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before sale.

Responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing maintenance services, and ensuring vehicles are retail-ready. You will work with advisors and parts staff in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with multiple makes and models.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Able to work quickly in a fast-paced dealership environment.
• ASE certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose used vehicles for safety and quality.
• Perform maintenance services including oil changes and brake repairs.
• Repair suspension, steering, cooling, and HVAC systems.
• Document repairs and communicate findings to the service team.
• Ensure vehicles are retail-ready and meet standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer service information.
• Work with service advisors and parts staff.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections.
