Job summary

Powergen Controls is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning power and distribution control systems across the country, with up to 80% travel.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in the industry, a Bachelor's degree or demonstrable experience with advanced math concepts, and strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. English proficiency is required; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

2+ years in power or automation industry.
Bachelor's degree or demonstrable experience with advanced math concepts.
Proficient in troubleshooting electrical equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control systems.
Wire industrial control panels, switchboards, and MCCs.
Perform field commissioning and startup activities.
Connect to PLCs and HMIs for downloading, uploading, and remote troubleshooting.
Perform basic mechanical repairs in the field.
Document all site activities and update client drawings as needed.
Communicate with project managers, clients, and team members.
Adhere to safety standards and stay current with training requirements.
