Job summary

Electronic Power Design is seeking a Field Services Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical power distribution systems for customers across the United States and internationally. This role emphasizes direct customer interaction, travel flexibility, and hands-on problem solving in challenging environments.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering, up to 2 years of experience, and strong reading of schematics with a focus on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience; internships and co-op experience welcomed.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems and industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical power distribution systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving switchboards, motor control centers, generators, PLCs, VFDs, protective relays, breakers, and automation systems.
• Analyze system performance and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Serve as a professional representative of EPD at customer locations.
• Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates with customers and project stakeholders.
• Provide customer training and operational guidance as needed.
• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and professionalism.
