Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Experienced RN for the Operating Room to work 7:00 am–5:30 pm with days + call. You will scrub and circulate across service lines during orientation and may rotate to specialty call teams to gain proficiency.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, assessments, planning and coordination of the inter-disciplinary care plan, medication administration, and ongoing quality improvements in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Successfully complete mandatory clinical competencies annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Assessments: complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Planning: develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Implementation: provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document.
• Evaluation: participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Leadership/development: delegate tasks/assignments, mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain licensure.
• Department duties: plan patient care utilizing information and preference sheets, prepare equipment, anticipate needs, ensure proper patient identification and respond to on-call pages.
