Experienced Infusion Commercial Insurance Collector

This is a 100% remote opportunity, but candidates must have 3-5 years of commercial insurance collection experience; home infusion experience is preferred.

AIC seeks an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote role involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties. If local to DFW, you may work from the office.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state billing and collection regulations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Home infusion experience preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment; escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and proper application.
• Identify bad debts and initiate write-offs and adjustments per policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving discrepancies.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for patient and insurance information.
• Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
• Maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical billing codes.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and professionally with all stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills respecting laws and regulations.
