Experienced Infusion Commercial Insurance Collector

This is a 100% remote opportunity but requires 3-5 years of commercial insurance collection experience; home infusion experience is preferred.

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. Committed to Innovation, Stewardship, and Unity, we aim to advance quality and improve lives by providing quality products and services that enhance the care experience.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Collection expert to join our dynamic team. This full-time role involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or responsible parties. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and comply with federal and state regulations.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
  • Home infusion experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality, supporting patients' rights.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment, escalating issues as needed.
  • Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
  • Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating them per policies.
  • Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve them.
  • Process refund requests following policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments for necessary patient or insurance information.
  • Adhere to all regulatory mandates and guidelines.
  • Verify billing accounts and ensure payments are correctly posted.
  • Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
  • Seek ways to maximize claim reimbursement.
  • Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and insurance plans.
  • Share knowledge with team members and foster a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills respecting laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Integrity, credibility, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Proficiency with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership ability and adaptability in a changing environment.
