Experienced Infusion Commercial Insurance Collector

This is a 100% remote opportunity, but candidates must have 3-5 years of commercial insurance collection experience; home infusion experience is preferred.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team! This full-time, remote position involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state billing and collection regulations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Home infusion experience preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are pluses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment, escalating issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and proper application.
• Identify bad debts and A/R adjustments; initiate write-offs per policies.
• Investigate and resolve overpayments or duplicate payments.
• Process refund requests in accordance with policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for necessary patient or insurance information.
• Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document calls and call details consistently.
• Maximize claim reimbursement opportunities.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
