Experienced Infusion Commercial Insurance Collector

This is a 100% remote opportunity, but candidates must have 3-5 years of commercial insurance collection experience; home infusion experience is preferred.

AIC is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team! This full-time role involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered. The position is remote, but local candidates to the DFW area may work from the office.

The ideal candidate should possess outstanding communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and work in compliance with federal and state regulations related to billing and collection activities.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Home infusion experience preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are pluses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating them per policies.
• Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve accordingly.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for patient or insurance information.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
• Conduct activities consistent with department protocols and regulations.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Document communication details thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
