Experienced Infusion Commercial Insurance Collector

This is a 100% remote opportunity, but candidates must have 3-5 years of commercial insurance collection experience; home infusion experience is preferred.

AIC is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team! This full-time role involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties. This position is remote, but local candidates in the DFW area may work from the office.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a thorough knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Home infusion experience is preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating them per policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving issues accordingly.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Ensure activities comply with all regulatory mandates.
• Conduct collection activities in line with departmental protocols and regulations.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document all communications thoroughly.
• Maximize claim reimbursement opportunities.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical codes.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
• Good judgment in complex situations, with knowledge of laws and regulations.
