Job summary

James Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support Primoris Heavy Civil projects in Laredo, TX. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, graders and loaders, perform pre-op checks, and help ensure accurate excavation and material placement according to blueprints and grade stakes.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of verifiable heavy civil experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and a solid commitment to site safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of verifiable heavy civil construction equipment experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, rollers) safely and productively.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance and report issues.
• Read blueprints, grade stakes, and other documents to ensure correct excavation and material placement.
• Excavate, backfill, level, and spread materials per project specs.
• Load/unload materials from trucks and coordinate with ground crew for workflow.
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, maintain clean work area, and assist with general labor when not operating equipment.
