Primoris Heavy Civil in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support our highway and marine construction projects. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders, ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment, reads blueprints and grade stakes, and performs routine inspections and basic maintenance while working as part of a team in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating heavy civil construction equipment.
• Proven ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment proficiently.
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey markers.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and work in a demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections.
• Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and production.
• Grade and excavate according to plans and specs.
• Assist with loading/unloading materials.
• Communicate effectively with crew and supervisors.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning.
• Work in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrain.
