Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential programs in Toms River, Barnegat, Lacey Township, and Brick, New Jersey. This full-time day-shift role emphasizes daily living support, documentation, health and safety, and teamwork within a compassionate residential team.

You will apply your DSP background and medical case management experience to help individuals start their day,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of prior Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience.
• Medical case management experience.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five points.
• Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication support, transportation, and daily living tasks.
• Reinforce practical skills, healthy routines, personal responsibility and decision-making.
• Assist individuals with recreation, shopping, community outings and social activities.
• Encourage individuals to make choices about routines and daily lives.
• Promote dignity, respect and encouragement in the living environment.
• Complete electronic documentation, daily service notes and records accurately.
