Job summary

CGS seeks an experienced CommVault Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal government environment. The role covers installation, testing, tuning, and ongoing support across WAN-spread infrastructure, with an emphasis on security and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will manage data protection architectures, perform capacity planning, and collaborate with operations to ensure timely backup and replication

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection application.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, Windows Servers, Linux, SQL.
• Experience with DISA STIGs and applying to Commvault systems.
• Security tasks including documentation, vulnerability scanning, patch management, and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, integrate and secure backup/recovery/storage solutions over WAN.
• Create and maintain backup/restore and redundancy solutions for critical data; plan routine maintenances.
• Troubleshoot complex backup/recovery issues across network, applications, servers, hardware, and appliances.
• Provide analytics, usage, capacity planning and reporting in the Commvault management system.
• Apply regular security updates and patches to backup servers/appliances per federal requirements.
• Collaborate with operations to support enterprise infrastructure processes for backup/restore/data replication requests.
