Job summary

CGS (Contact Government Services) is seeking an experienced CommVault Data Protection Engineer to design, deploy, and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal government enterprise environment. The role covers configuring Commvault, optimizing backups, performing troubleshooting, and providing analytics, capacity planning, and security patching across Windows and Linux servers.

Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection application and backup/recovery concepts.
Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments; familiarity with SQL databases.
Experience applying DISA STIGs to backup systems and related infrastructure.
Ability to perform security tasks including patching, vulnerability reviews, and auditing.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, implement, test, and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal environment.
Create, maintain, and optimize backup, restore, and redundancy strategies across WAN and multi-tier deployments.
Troubleshoot complex backup/recovery issues across networking, servers, and appliances.
Provide analytics, capacity planning, and reporting within the backup management console.
Apply regular security updates and patches per federal requirements; support enterprise processes.
