Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced CommVault Systems Engineer (Data Protection / Backup) to design, implement and support backup and recovery solutions for a large federal government environment in Arlington, VA. The role emphasizes secure, scalable data protection and ongoing optimization of storage and recovery workflows.

The engineer will work with WAN-based, multi-tier environments, perform vulnerability reviews, apply DISA STIGs, and provide capacity planning and analytics using Commvault tools.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection applications.
• Experience with DISA STIGs and applying to Commvault systems.
• Security-focused tasks including vulnerability review, patching and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, implement, test and support backup and recovery solutions for large-scale federal environments.
• Create and maintain optimal backup, restore and redundancy strategies for critical data.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues across networking, servers, and storage.
• Provide analytics, capacity planning and reporting within Commvault management tools.
• Apply regular security updates and patches to backup servers and appliances.
• Collaborate with operations to support enterprise infrastructure processes for backup, restore and replication.
