Job summary

Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. is seeking an experienced delivery driver to safely operate a range of company vehicles, load and unload materials, and service customers at delivery sites.

This role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, accurate documentation, and punctual, professional communication with Dispatch. Responsibilities include planning efficient routes, performing vehicle inspections, and ensuring loads are secure.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• Experience with semi-trucks, tandem-axle trucks, and vans is preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements is essential.
• Ability to read delivery tickets, invoices and credit memos is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, load, unload, and pick up building materials as scheduled.
• Safely operate company vehicles and ensure loads are secure.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites and on the road.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Communicate delivery issues to Dispatch promptly.
