Job summary

Herrman Lumber Company is seeking a CDL Driver to safely transport lumber and building materials to customer sites while complying with DOT regulations and ensuring accurate delivery documentation. You will operate Class A or B commercial vehicles, perform pre/post-trip inspections, secure loads, interact professionally with customers, and assist with yard duties when not driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDL Class A or B license is required.
• One year of commercial driving experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles to transport lumber and materials to customer sites.
• Transport materials on public highways, including interstate routes and state lines.
• Adhere to DOT regulations, including hours-of-service and inspections.
• Secure loads with straps and tarps to prevent shifting.
• Interact professionally with customers and suppliers.
• Maintain delivery records such as bills of lading and fuel logs.
• Assist with loading/unloading and yard organization when not driving.
• Report accidents or safety concerns per company procedures.
