SAFEbuilt is seeking a Combination Building Inspector in New York State. You will conduct field inspections for residential, commercial, and public facilities, ensuring compliance with building codes while interacting with the public and contractors.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to positively interact with various stakeholders.
• Candidate must stay familiar with different editions of the International Building Codes.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of construction projects.
• Provide recommendations on compliance with construction standards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of inspections.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology

3+ years experience with interpretation of codes in the field

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good time management and attention to detail skills

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

Education

DBPR State of FL Inspector Licensing

Valid driver's license with good driving record
