SAFEbuilt is seeking a skilled Combination Building Inspector to join our team. You will conduct daily field inspections across residential, commercial, and public projects, and explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

The role requires reviewing plans for code compliance and maintaining thorough records. Ideal candidates have extensive code knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple inspections in a fast-paced environment while staying current with the

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• 3+ yrs. experience interpreting codes in the field to provide code-compliant solutions.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, public, contractors, and government entities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility construction projects.
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Review plans and calculations for building component compliance with codes.
• Provide interpretations of standards and local ordinances.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and permitting software logs.
• Perform related duties as required.
