Job summary

SAFEbuilt, Inc. seeks a Combination Building Inspector to join our team of professionals. You will perform field inspections on residential, commercial, and public facility projects, explaining code requirements to diverse audiences and documenting results.

You will review plans, ensure code compliance, and provide recommendations on interpretations of standards and local ordinances while maintaining thorough records and reporting via permitting software.

Qualifications

• 3+ yrs experience interpreting codes in the field with code-compliant solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with the public, contractors, and authorities respectfully.
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Initiative and independent judgment for multiple projects.
• Familiarity with the International Building Codes editions.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facilities.
• Interacts with the public and explains technical information to diverse audiences.
• Reviews plans and calculations for code compliance.
• Provides recommendations on standards, codes, and ordinances.
• Maintains inspection records and enters results into permitting software.
• Perform other related duties as required.
