Rohrman Automotive Group is seeking an Experienced Automotive Technician to join the Service Department at Gurnee Volkswagen. Candidates with VW/Audi experience will be preferred; other European brands are welcome with a solid diagnostic background.

The role emphasizes accurate diagnostics, repairs, and adherence to dealer standards while maintaining a safe workplace and strong teamwork. Tools and a committed work ethic are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional automotive technician experience preferred.
• Volkswagen and/or Audi experience strongly preferred.
• European automotive experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle concerns.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Must have your own professional tools.
• ASe certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns.
• Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and HVAC repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify vehicle concerns.
• Perform routine maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services.
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
• Perform quality-control inspections to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Identify additional repairs and communicate findings when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic and repair work.
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.

Gurnee Volkswagen is looking for an Experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. We are looking for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work, has strong diagnostic abilities, and is capable of handling a wide range of automotive repairs.
