Job summary

Gurnee Volkswagen is seeking a Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles so they are ready for sale and delivery to customers. You will work with a collaborative service team to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely turnaround.

You’ll perform routine maintenance, diagnose automotive systems, and complete reconditioning tasks while maintaining thorough documentation and adhering to safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician experience preferred.
• Experience working on used/reconditioning vehicles is a plus.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to provide your own tools.

Responsibilities

Gurnee Volkswagen is looking for a Used Car Technician to join our service team. This position is responsible for helping inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition used vehicles so they are ready to be sold and delivered to our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect and evaluate used vehicles for mechanical and safety concerns
• Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Diagnose and repair automotive systems and components
• Complete reconditioning work to prepare vehicles for salePerform oil changes, brake work, suspension repairs, and other general repairs
• Identify additional repairs needed and communicate findings with management
• Perform quality-control inspections on completed work
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and services performed
• Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Follow all dealership safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

What We’re Looking For
