Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop in Springfield Town Center, Springfield, VA, is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the store leader in daily operations and guest service excellence. You will oversee staffing, scheduling, and merchandising while coaching Bear Builders to deliver an Experience First culture and achieve sales goals in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in customer-centric retail.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of POS, scheduling, HRIS and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and staff direction.
• Assist in hiring decisions and promotions, giving feedback on selections.
• Lead scheduled shifts, enforce policies, and address violations with guidance.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader by coaching and optimizing guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays follow brand standards and create cohesive store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional guest experiences.
