Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in daily operations. You will assist with patient flow, chairside procedures, radiographs, sterilization, and charting while ensuring quality care and infection control.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Dental Assistant license/registration/certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirements as specified by state.
• State certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during various treatment procedures.
• Break down operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes and ensure staff are trained.
• Follow maintenance schedules for dental lines and equipment.
• Prepare trays and operatory setup for procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to perform patient handoffs and manage flow.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs and explain post-treatment care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene.
• Assist with denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Support laboratory case management.
• Take intraoral health scans quickly.
• Understand clear aligner processes and teach.
• Take impressions and bite registrations.
• Perform expanded functions as certified.
• Maintain emergency kits and oxygen.”,
