Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support our patient care team in Aspen, CO. You will assist doctors, manage operatory flow, take radiographs, and uphold sterilization and infection-control standards while training staff on procedures.

Requirements include a current Dental Assistant license, state radiology certification, CPR/BLS, and 2+ years of chairside experience in four-handed dentistry. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing education through TAG U.

Qualifications

• State license/registration as required.
• State radiology certification required.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience.
• Proficient in chairside and four-handed dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the director to maintain productive patient flow throughout the day.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes and ensure staff training and compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, and autoclave processes.
• Prepare trays and operatory setup for procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors and monitor patient flow.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor flow within the practice.
• Follow OSHA and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Provide post-treatment oral hygiene instructions.
• Educate patients on oral health strategies.
• Assist with denture relines and temporary crowns; support lab cases.
• Perform intraoral health scans and impressions as needed.
• Assist with expanded functions and maintain emergency kits.
