Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Missouri to support clinicians and enhance patient care. You will perform a range of chairside duties, radiographs, sterilization, and patient education within a busy dental practice.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Registration/Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes and train staff on procedures.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, and autoclave.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor flow.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and Aspen safety requirements.
• Take dental radiographs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
