Job summary

Aspen Dental in the United States is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support doctors, maintain patient flow, and perform a range of chairside duties.

You will handle radiographs, sterilization, charting, and patient care instructions, while following OSHA/HIPAA and practice standards. The role includes training others, ordering supplies, and upholding quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license/registration as required by state.
• State radiology certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• 2+ years of experience as a dental assistant.
• Proficient chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrated sterilization and infection-control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirements and state certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during treatments and procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms and clean/sterilize equipment.
• Complete sterilization processes and training compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and equipment.
• Prepare trays and operatory setup for procedures.
• Support charting and patient education on oral care.
• Train others for patient handoffs and flow management.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and Aspen safety rules.
• Take dental radiographs and interpret basic images.
• Order and manage supplies within practice budget.
• Perform additional expanded functions as certified.
