Job summary

Kids Dental Brands in Maumee, OH is seeking a full-time Expanded Function Dental Assistant. You will work chair-side with dentists, assist in the back office, take x-rays, and manage impressions and sterilization. Strong patient-care skills and EFDA experience are required; X-ray certification is mandatory.

Benefit-rich role with competitive pay starting at $32.00/hour, with up to $600 monthly bonus and on-site schedule, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• CDA or RDA and EFDA course completion and X-ray certification.
• Coronal Polishing certification is a plus.
• 1+ year EFDA experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office staff.
• Chair-side dentistry, patient care and lab duties.
• Take and process dental radiographs.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take impressions, extractions, and fillings as needed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Review medical history and monitor vital signs.
• Help patients feel comfortable throughout treatment.
• Provide postoperative care instructions.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office employees
• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Takeimpressions of the patient's teeth(models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Askabout the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

Compensation and Schedule
