Job summary

Kids Dental Brands is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant for our Maumee, OH office. The role involves chair-side patient care, radiographs, instrument prep/sterilization, impressions, and assisting with back-office operations.

The team emphasizes compassionate care in a kid-friendly setting and offers strong growth potential. We require CDA or RDA and EFDA certification, X-ray cert, and at least 1 year of EFDA experience.

Qualifications

• CDA or RDA and EFDA course completion as required by state
• X-ray certification
• Coronal Polishing certification is a plus
• 1+ year EFDA experience

Responsibilities

• Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office staff
• Chair-side with dentists, perform patient care and lab duties
• Take and process dental radiographs
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Take impressions, extractions, and composite fillings
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Review medical history and monitor vital signs
• Help patients feel comfortable during dental procedures
• Provide post-treatment instructions and care guidance

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office employees
• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Takeimpressions of the patient's teeth(models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Askabout the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

Compensation and Schedule

• Salary:Starting at $32.00 depending on certifications. Additional increases for experience
• Bonus Pay:up to $600 additional per month
• Schedule:On-site. Monday-Friday
