Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a dental assistant to support the doctor in restorative procedures and patient care. You will assist with fillings, crowns, dentures, and impressions, while maintaining patient safety and accurate charting.

Responsibilities include taking X-Rays, updating health history and treatment plans, educating patients, and ensuring exam rooms are clean and organized. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• EDDA dental assisting experience is required.
• Experience in multi-surface fillings and dentures is preferred.
• Active CPR and AED training is required.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide is preferred.
• OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training must be maintained.
• Dental practice management software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, dentures).
• Take impressions, FMX, and diagnostic X-Rays and attach to patient chart.
• Chart sterilization and patient records, insurance eligibility, and treatment plans.
• Educate patients on oral health and monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare tray set-ups and ensure rooms are clean, stocked, and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience

Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures

Active CPR and AED training

Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred

Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training

Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful

Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!

Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions

Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one

Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner

Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details

Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health

Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit

Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures

Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction

Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.

Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern

Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart

Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.

Performs all other duties as assigned

Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged sitting and standing as needed

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
