Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics in Greeley, CO is seeking a qualified dental assistant (EDDA) to support doctors across general dentistry, orthodontics, and pediatric services. The role emphasizes patient safety, efficient chairside assistance, and accurate charting.

You will assist with restorative procedures, X-rays, impressions, denture work, and sterilization, while maintaining OSHA compliance and HIPAA practices.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience.
• Experience in multi-surface fillings and dentures.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Certification to monitor nitrous oxide preferred.
• OSHA, HIPAA and infection control training maintained.
• Open Dental or Dentrix experience helpful.
• Sealant, coronal polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures and denture work.
• Take impressions, FMX, and diagnostic X-Rays; chart and sterilize.
• Adhere to OSHA and infection control protocols and dispose of waste safely.
• Educate patients and families on oral health and treatment plans.
• Maintain patient charts, health history, and insurance eligibility.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness between patient visits.

Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience

Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures

Active CPR and AED training

Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred

Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training

Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful

Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!

Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions

Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one

Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner

Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details

Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health

Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit

Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures

Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction

Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.

Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern

Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart

Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.

Performs all other duties as assigned

Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged sitting and standing as needed

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
