Job summary

Rodeo Dental is seeking an experienced dental assistant (EDDA) to support doctors across general dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. The role emphasizes patient safety, infection control, and accurate charting of health histories and treatment plans.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of EDDA experience, CPR/AED training, and familiarity with Open Dental or Dentrix. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
• Multi surface filling and dentures experience
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a huge plus
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, FMX, and charting
• Sterilization and safe disposal of sharps and waste
• Maintain digital patient artifacts such as health history and treatment plans
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits
• Monitor patient well‑being during visits
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences
• Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked
• Chart existing treatments for new patients
• Take diagnostic X‑Rays and attach to charts
• Support Rodeo Team with cleaning and tidying areas
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
• Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
