Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics in Colorado is hiring a dental assistant to support doctors in restorative procedures, fillings, crowns and dentures, and to maintain digital patient records. You will focus on patient safety and adhere to OSHA and infection-control protocols while supporting a full range of dental services.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year EDDA experience, proficiency with Open Dental/Dentrix is helpful, CPR/AED, and Spanish bilingual is a plus; the role offers hourly pay

Qualifications

• EDDA experience and dental assisting background.
• Experience with multi-surface fillings and dentures is preferred.
• CPR/AED training current.
• Nitrous oxide monitoring certification is a plus.
• OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control training maintained.
• Experience with dental software (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures including fillings, crowns, dentures, impressions, and FMX.
• Maintain patient safety and team safety as priorities.
• Follow OSHA and infection-control protocols; dispose of sharps and waste safely.
• Maintain digital patient records and treatment plans.
• Educate patients on oral health and monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare tray setups and ensure rooms are clean and stocked.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
• Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
