Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is hiring a Dental Assistant in Colorado Springs to support clinicians across general dentistry, orthodontics, and pediatric services.

The role requires EDDA experience, multi-surface fillings, CPR/AED, and comfort with dental software. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; compensation is $24–$28 per hour with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• EDDA dental assisting experience required.
• Experience with multi-surface fillings and dentures.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Nitrous oxide monitoring certification preferred.
• OSHA/HIPAA and infection control training up to date.
• Experience with dental practice management software preferred.
• Sealant/Coronal polishing/PALS certifications a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, impressions, and preparing trays.
• Keep patient safety as priority and follow OSHA protocols.
• Maintain digital patient records and treatment plans.
• Educate patients on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure rooms are clean and stocked.
• Chart treatments and health history prior to the doctor arrival.
• Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach to patient chart.
• Support team with cleaning and office upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 years of dental assisting (EDDA) experience
• Must have experience in multi surface filling and dentures
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the doctor in restorative procedures, composite fillings, crown and bridge, dentures, taking impressions, taking FMX, charting sterilization, placing rubber dam, pouring up models, root canals, and extractions
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
