Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm

Main Site: 1221 N. Highland Ave - will also go to 1508 Aurora Ave. Naperville

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring appropriate, safe, and effective stress testing.
  • Complying with policies and procedures of the cardio diagnostic department.
  • Assisting in patient interviews and evaluations, selecting appropriate stress tests, and communicating with physicians.
  • Having knowledge of the progression of heart disease in adult cardiac patients.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Promoting patient safety by reporting issues and participating in safety initiatives.
  • Conducting Exercise stress and CPX testing.
  • Developing and updating informational handouts based on research.
  • Following individual exercise protocols and discussing changes with physicians.
  • Monitoring patients for ECG changes, dysrhythmias, ischemic and injury patterns, and knowing emergency procedures.
  • Communicating patient information to physicians.
  • Providing a safe environment for testing.
  • Assisting with equipment and supply management.
  • Teaching patients and their families about stress testing.
  • Performing CPR and emergency procedures as needed.
  • Participating in professional development and contributing to clinical excellence.
  • Attending in-services and continuing education.
  • Seeking improvement opportunities and providing feedback.
  • Assisting in developing educational materials and staff education.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Reviewing EPIC orders for accuracy.
  • Preparing billing vouchers.
  • Communicating equipment issues and managing supplies.
  • Assisting with pre-certification processes.

Education/Experience Required:

  • M.S. in Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and intervention.
  • 12-lead ECG interpretation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cardiac monitors.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to stay current with new concepts.
  • Assertiveness and optimism.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Lifting Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; use of patient handling equipment for heavier lifts.

Pay Range:

$24.85 - $37.30
