Qualifications

**EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST PRN**

We’re looking for a qualified EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST to join our Texas Health family.

Position Highlights:
  • Work location: 6100 Harris Parkway Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (hours vary for PRN position)

Here’s What You Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or a related field required
  • 3 months experience in cardiac rehab is highly preferred
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (90 days required)
  • CCES - Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist upon hire
  • RCEP - Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist upon hire
Here’s What You Will Do:
Clinical Practice:
  • Assess patient health risks, needs, and interests.
  • Assist RN with patient assessment on admission to the program and assist with the development of comprehensive individualized exercise programs.
  • Conduct fitness evaluations in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Develop exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the needs and interests of the client, following department guidelines.
  • Provide instruction for safe and effective exercise performance and promote secondary prevention for individuals limited by cardiac disease.
  • Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient treatment and individualize care based on age-specific needs.
  • Use ScottCare telemetry to obtain accurate HR, BP, RR, and cardiac rhythm.
  • Set up and operate monitoring and exercise equipment proficiently.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient education.
  • Complete all documentation and communication promptly.
Accountability:
  • Maintain equipment and a safe environment.
  • Seek assistance or supervision as needed and report issues to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with peers and other disciplines.
  • Notify physicians of complications promptly.
Administrative:
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and administrative tasks related to cardiac rehab.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and safety standards.
  • Ensure accurate billing, charging, and documentation.
  • Communicate via email as required.
  • Document all data and unusual occurrences per guidelines.
  • Assist with quality control procedures.
Professionalism:
  • Participate in initiatives and meet departmental goals.
  • Attend training sessions and adhere to policies.
Skills:

Knowledge of clinical equipment, infection control, safety standards, and patient care skills are essential.
