Job summary

FWI in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Lead Executive Transition Coach & Instructor to support the Army Strategic Education Program (ASEP) by leading a week-long career transition course for retiring U.S. Army General Officers and their spouses.

You will design and deliver executive-level instruction, coach generals one-on-one on transition plans, resumes, and networks, and help participants compete for senior civilian leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Retired U.S. Army General Officer with GO level service within the last 15 years.
• 10+ years active-duty Army service at the rank of O-4 or above within the last 20 years.
• Master’s degree or higher in business administration, HR, organizational psychology, or related field.
• PHR or SPHR certification or related professional certification.
• 3+ years as an executive transition counselor or coach.
• 3+ years working with outplacement for generals and senior executives.
• 3+ years as a senior executive in a corporation or government role.
• Experience delivering executive curricula virtually in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ASEP-Transition course for generals in-person and online.
• Present a 5- to 10-year view of the executive job market for participants.
• Guide participants through transition plans, assessments, and translating military leadership into civilian terms.
• Run resume, LinkedIn, networking exercises and negotiation practice.
• Provide one-on-one counseling and follow-on coaching up to 90 days after graduation.
• Deliver tailored half-day sessions for four-star generals and an annual transition module.
