Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Senior Director of Technology to lead the HR, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Communications tech stack. You will guide strategy, budget, and staffing for a 30–40 person team and a $50M+ portfolio, partnering with senior leaders to align technology with business goals.

Hybrid work arrangement with in-office days; the role requires strong executive presence, strategic planning, and hands-on delivery across core platforms like Workday and FinScan.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
• 2+ years managing large, complex technology organizations (30+ FTE) and multi-year budgets exceeding $50M.
• Direct experience with core HR technology platforms (Workday strongly preferred).
• Experience with compliance/risk technology platforms (e.g., FinScan, AML) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with audit management platforms (TeamMate) a plus.
• Proven track record of strategic planning translated into disciplined execution.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Strong financial acumen: budget planning, portfolio prioritization, vendor negotiation, and capacity/demand management.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technology strategy for HR, Legal, and Compliance functions.
• Lead technology for HRIS with Workday as core platform.
• Manage the annual technology portfolio budget of $50M+; oversee vendors and licensing.
• Build multi-year roadmaps incorporating modernization, AI/automation, and risk reduction.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across platforms.
