Job summary

Carver Road Hospitality is opening a Modern American Steakhouse and is seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to lead BOH operations in New York. This role supports the Corporate Chef, ensuring safety, quality, recipe accuracy and profitability while training and developing kitchen staff.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of Sous Chef experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of sanitation and payroll systems; Spanish fluency is a plus. Evening/weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a Sous Chef in a medium/high-volume restaurant.
• Sanitation and safe food handling knowledge required.
• Current Massachusetts Food Handler Card (certification).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations to ensure safety, quality and profitability.
• Schedule, train and develop BOH staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and BOH standards.
• Coach kitchen employees and manage recipes and inventory.
• Maintain payroll, inventory and purchasing systems.
