Job summary

COREcruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Exec Sous Chef to join the opening team of a chef-driven full-service restaurant concept in Menlo Park, CA. You will help build the kitchen from the ground up and work closely with an experienced Chef in a high-volume setting.

The role requires a proven culinary leader with a hands-on approach, strong food cost understanding, and a commitment to quality and consistency. Health Benefits and dining discounts are included.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Exec Sous Chef or similar culinary leadership role.
• Full-service restaurant experience, ideally Italian or Mediterranean.
• Comfortable working in a chef-driven, high-quality environment.
• Strong understanding of food cost, inventory and kitchen operations.
• Hands-on approach with a passion for quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in leading day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Lead service and ensure smooth execution in a high-volume environment.
• Train and develop cooks while maintaining strong kitchen standards.
• Ensure proper food safety, sanitation and health code compliance.
• Help establish systems, recipes and procedures for the new opening.
