Aba, the Mediterranean restaurant with a California influence, will open in Nashville’s Wedgewood/Houston neighborhood in Summer 2025. Led by Top Chef Alum Chef Partner CJ Jacobson, this will be Aba’s fourth location, with others in Austin, TX, and Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all kitchen duties during mid and closing shifts, manage inventory, ordering, and control food and labor costs
  • Lead BOH shifts, ensure efficient operations, supervise kitchen, dish, and BOH teams
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, line checks, and food tastings
  • Collaborate with management to review and maintain recipe standards
  • Perform regular quality checks on menu items
  • Order food and supplies daily
  • Coordinate communication between FOH and BOH regarding food production and timing
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training BOH staff
  • Promote teamwork and professional conduct
  • Handle challenges tactfully and courteously
  • Work various shifts and locations, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and potential overnight travel
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Executive Sous Chef in a full-service restaurant
  • Proven ability to lead and manage kitchen staff

Salary Range: USD $60,000 - $90,000 per year.
