Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking an Executive Secretary Senior for the Central Administration in Richmond, VA. The role supports the Agency Management Lead Analyst with operational analysis and project execution, ensuring secure, healthy workplaces and productive staff.
Responsibilities include overseeing interns and wage employees, applying research methods, and providing data-driven recommendations to leadership. Strong communication and independent work are essential.
Support operational analysis to the Agency Management Lead Analyst ensuring that Operations maintains resilient routines that support the wellbeing and meaningful work carried out by its employees in safe, secure, healthy, and productive workplaces.
Executes the project design, initiatives, research directives of the Agency Management Lead Analyst. Oversees the day-to-day activities of unpaid academic interns and wage employees including Wilder Fellows. Applies knowledge of research, analysis, and evaluation techniques to projects which can include data collection, specialized research, and strategic planning. Support or present at leadership meetings. Support facilitation of employee groups. Research relevant data sources to determine best practices and evidence-based methodology, solutions and recommendations. Play a role in all stages of a project, such as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Experience with research, analysis, and evaluation techniques to projects which can include data collection, specialized research, and strategic planning. Demonstrated experience collecting, sorting, and analyzing data, to make connections, draw conclusions, offer alternatives, make recommendations, identify gaps in data, and to independently seek additional sources of information. Project management experience to include initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with others to collect data and provide information. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a highly refined and compelling manner, both written and verbal.
Able to work independently and with a team to creatively develop a strategy or plan for managing short term, long term and/or complex assignment(s).
Prior knowledge of project management, corrections and/or state government.
