Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Director of Risk to lead enterprise-wide risk management for a large, self-performing heavy civil general contractor with substantial annual revenue. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, or related roles in construction or a similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management, insurance structures, and claims management.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex insurance programs and manage broker relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an Enterprise Risk Management strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead insurance program design, placement, and administration across all lines of coverage.
• Provide executive oversight of claims handling, reserving, and settlement authority.
• Partner with legal on contract risk transfer standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Champion risk culture and drive accountability across operations, estimating, and project management.
